at the Motor Heritage Museum saw an additional exhibition hall and three streams of simultaneous presentations. One of the keynotes took place in Track 3, Chaired by David Williams, Publisher, Micro Technology Europe including Automotive Electronics. The keynote lecture by Colin Newell – Scientific Desk Officer MOD DEC GM is reviewed in this article followed by a review of the Michael Morua lecture Electronic Architecture (EA) in FRES (Future Rapid Effect System).
The MAE is a well attended event in the environs of the Motor Heritage Museum, Warwickshire. The Museum is a single large internal space filled with a representation of cars from the last century. Amongst the collection there are certain exceptional

examples; for instance the first Benz motor car, a late Rolls Royce, record breaking cars, royal cars for formal occasions, trikes and an early MG. The too-dangerous-to-release Rover version of GM’s turbine powered car made its homecoming debut at twilight on the day of MAE and is pictured alongside featuring one of the air intakes prominently. The cars, presented in groups, are accompanied by educational materials to provide a context with which to view them and compare them and thereby perceive the incremental improvements which each generation has brought with it. Shown inthe photos is SAE-UK PR Manager, Anika Patel, who (incidentally) covets Aston Martins

above all else followed closely by the newer MGs and Rolls – though less favourably disposed to the Hollywood cars from Thunderbirds and Tomb Raider - running contrary to perceived wisdom. Apparently the haloed icons of Lara Croft’s Steel Clad Land Rover and the Pink stretched Limo of her predecessor Lady Penelope (filmed in SuperMarionation[i]) hold no currency with the Fashionistas. So much for the Emperoress’s New Clothes.
SAE-UK would like to thank the Military Aerospace Exhibition organisers for the invitation to exhibit at their Event. Pictured
