Duality of nature is the best way to understand the Morgan, its the Batman of Supercars and not just in its styling. The production of cars fuses wood and alloy together to create a sprung framed racing car that is surely one of the few that really provides an experience of Motorsports origins, when cars were both objects of design beauty and not just aerodynamic calculation but also powerful and responsive in a way that conventional technology has simply overburdened with
the addition of driver comfort and entertainment systems. Morgan state, 'our drivers listen to the engine'. There is no in-seat air conditioning in practise the only thing the seat transfers is G force and is actually formed from a single piece of contoured ash laminate for spring one presumes. This a pure driving experience and in its construction also, the duality is pure automotive fundamentalism. The Morgan Car Club is not for enthusiasts its for driving purists.
I drove this car through the sweeping
contours of the Malvern Hills. The performance of this vehicle is extreme for a road-legal car. Its the only car I have been in where the external contours actually form part of the internal experience of the car. Those front wings rise up into the attention of the driver's line of sight and the centre line of the bonnet lines up with the curb and the wings with the road centre. The external contours are like cross-hairs for lining up the target and the clutch the trigger. The styling is beautiful but deceptive on the eye, this car boasts an extreme driving experience.
