18th May Friday The aim is to visit Land Rover in the Midlands to discuss Continual Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
19th May Saturday Senior Officers Learning (SOL) Event from 9am - 1pm including 1hour for Lunch, Drive to Minster Lovell.
20th May Sunday Rest Day.
21st May Monday Visiting with the Motorsport Knowledge Exchange Program at Oxford Brookes University and then with Performance Engineering companies in the South West of England.
22nd May Tuesday Returning to London and visiting PRI, flying onto Japan from Heathrow.
Also, after a successful show for SAE-UK.org at Autosports 2007, SAE-UK is pleased to announce our Itinerary of Events during our tour of the SAE 2007 World Congress in Detroit, USA. We will be distributing our range of promotional materials and CD-Rom business cards to everyone we meet during our visit to the SAE 2007 World Congress, the cards contain our library of publications and activities. Our Itinerary begins with a review of the Baja Student off road competition with a view to commencing with the participation of SAE-UK, our itinerary will be;
11th Apr Wednesday Fly to Florida, where the Baja Student Competition takes place.
12th Apr Thursday Baja - SAE competion - Learn about their event setup and
13th Apr Friday Baja - SAE competion - student competions - Study their technical review of vehicles
14th Apr Saturday Baja - SAE competion - student competions - Event delivery study. Interview Entrant’s study of Best Practice
15th Apr Sunday Fly to Detroit for SAE 2007 World Congress
16th Apr Monday World Congress day visit to Congress, in the evening we attend the Detroit section meeting and evening event
17th Apr Tuesday World Congress - day visit to Congress
18th Apr Wednesday World Congress - day visit to Congress, CPD review with Kevin Perry, Manager, Professional Development, SAE-International
19th Apr Thursday World Congress - breakfast (8:30-9:30) meeting with SAE-International President and Murli Iyer, visit SAE 2007 World Congress, evening attend SAE-International congress banquet

SAE-UK has undergone a whirlwind business re-development over the last 12 months.
Business Planning
SAE-International has attended 3 business planning reviews driven by SAE-UK over the last 12 months. The objective was to understand how SAE-International operates, their products and revenue streams. These joint workshop helped define the SAE-UK.org business model to align with that of SAE-International.
  • SAE-UK Office Restructing - Gone is the physical office, filing cabinets, old business practices: Replaced by a cost effective virtual office run by a professional business team, supported by specialists from all over the world.
  • New Appointments: The starting point for our re-development was the appointment of our Professional Business Team:
 
  • Dr Anthony McDonagh-Smith is the Executive Director and Secretary (pictured centrally Chairing the Advanced Automotive Electronics Speaker's Panel and below left at Autosports 2007). Anthony has three Degrees in Engineering and Modern Languages and commercial experience in Operations, Engineering Research and Information Systems. Anthony has worked for SAE-UK.org since its first birthday and has dedicated himself to the computerisation of all aspects of the business from the Board Room to the magazine of the UK Affiliate of SAE International, with the website for www.VehicleTechnology.org launched early
