merican manufacturing company Autotech Driveline has announced it will be showcasing its new, high performance differential design, Wavetrac, at the Autosport International Show on 8-11 January 2009 in Birmingham. This will be the first time it will be shown in Europe.
The Wavetrac limited slip differential was designed from scratch to be a better differential than any other, made of a patent pending design to improve grip in low traction conditions.
The new Wavetrac has been manufactured to provide quicker acceleration and faster cornering by using both drive wheels instead of just one. It also offers improved no-load performance when compared to other helical gear differentials on the market.
Wavetrac limited slip differentials are already available for a limited number of vehicles including Volkswagen, Honda, Ford, BMW, and Mitsubishi. They come with a worldwide, limited lifetime warranty.
Autotech see the Autosport International show as the perfect platform for the European introduction of the new Wavetrac. As Dana Clark, Manager, Autotech Driveline, explains: "We chose Autosport International to formally introduce our new product to the European market because of the show's track record for drawing forward thinking, performance minded business owners looking for the newest products." |

Personnel from Autotech have attended the show for the last eight years, but 2009 will be the first time the company has actually exhibited. “It goes to show that the draw of Autosport International to new exhibitors is as strong as it has ever been,” says Autosport Engineering's head of business development Toby Tobias. “We are delighted to have Autotech using the event to showcase its new development.”
Autotech Driveline will be situated in the Autosport Engineering section of Autosport International on stand number E934. Further information about the company and its new limited slip differential can be found on its website, www.autotechdriveline.com. |

Next January’s Autosport International Show will see the public debut of Lifeline Fire & Safety System’s onboard fire suppression system Zero “ZERO”. This new product is being aimed specifically at Formula One. It is also believed to be the smallest and lightest such system ever to be presented for FIA approval.
Zero “ZERO” uses just 1.5kg of the environmentally friendly fire suppression fluid Novec 1230, which is produced by 3M. The system distributes 1.0kg of this agent to the engine bay area of the racecar and 0.5kg to the cockpit.
Novec 1230 works primarily by removing the heat from the fire. On discharge it creates a gaseous mixture with air, giving a high heat capacity and absorbing the fire’s energy. Novec 1230 has no adverse effects on delicate electronic equipment. It also has zero OPD, in other words does not deplete ozone.
The Novec 1230 is distributed using Lifeline’s compression discharge technology. This gives a constant spray pattern throughout the company’s latest, patent applied for, dual outlet nozzle, distributing only pure extinguishing agent. This, it is said, gives excellent fore knock down and fire out properties. As well as being tested on unleaded racing fuel, Zero “ZERO” has been tried on bio-ethanol and diesel fuels.
“Lifeline’s announcement that the Zero “ZERO” system will make its public debut at January’s Autosport International is another indicator of the importance of the event to motor racing’s technical suppliers,” said Haymarket Exhibitions’ Show Director Ian France.
Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems will be found on stand 7512 at the show, which takes place in the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. Those wanting advance information on the company’s other products should visit its web site, www.lifeline-fire.co.uk. |
