A potential for exhaust and turbocharger manufacturers and distributors Reduced margins are hitting some automotive companies hard and many are looking for an opportunity to bring in additional revenue to boost profits. A new reseller program that provides a real value added service has been designed to accelerate profits on exhausts, turbochargers and tuning components. Zircotec’s Reseller Program can increase revenues for its selected resellers by offering manufacturers and distributors an opportunity to broaden and differentiate their product range, and improve their product reliability and performance.
leader, specialises in thermal management for performance aftermarket and motorsport customers, as well as classic cars and high performance vehicles, and can provide comprehensive reseller support to suppliers in this demanding industry. |
One such company is Turbo Dynamics (TD), a leading supplier of turbochargers to OEMs and the aftermarket, which has recently become the first reseller for Zircotec’s coatings. TD and Zircotec have been working together since 2006, when TD began sending Zircotec turbine housings from Mitsubishi Evo turbochargers to prepare for rally and drag car applications. The relationship continued with increasing volumes of product being sent to Zircotec for coating. Now, TD is an official reseller and is seeing an increased demand for Zircotec coated turbocharger turbine housings, a component that on race applications reaches temperatures in excess of 1000°C.
“The thermal coating product fits in well with the performance side of our business, as well as enabling us to offer the customer a one stop shopping experience if they are looking for thermal coating on their manifold, exhaust system and turbocharger,” says Peter Marsh, TD’s managing director. “The coating provides a real benefit wherever under bonnet temperatures are an issue. The coating protects under bonnet components that might otherwise be damaged through heat radiation, whilst general under bonnet temperatures are also greatly reduced. The applications are endless. In terms of turbocharger performance, the thermal dynamics are such that keeping the heat within the exhaust gases provides an increased response with reduced spool-up times, and we anticipate further demand from our continued development in the diesel performance arena.”
Zircotec can provide effective point of sale and marketing material, backed up with technical support and proven industry experience. For any heat barrier and thermal management issue, Zircotec's technical specialists can provide solutions and advice no matter how demanding the requirements to suit individual requirements.
The recent reseller deal culminates several success projects between Zircotec and Turbo Dynamics. TD’s MD476 turbocharger fitted to the Mercedes 2.7 litre C and E Class diesel cars, which produce 280-300bhp, is one such application where TD has used the thermal coating on its hybrid design to optimise performance. TD has also designed a new turbine housing for the Subaru Impreza, coated with Zircotec’s plasma-sprayed ceramic coating for improved performance and engine reliability. A new GT32 version of the MD555 unit will also be joining the line up this year.
“Zircotec is delighted to start its reseller program with such a proactive and acclaimed company as Turbo Dynamics,” saysTerry Graham, Zircotec’s managing director. “We now look forward to working more closely with Turbo Dynamics as a Zircotec reseller, and also extending our relationships with other organisations.” |
