As the Chief Executive of the Society of Automotive Engineers in the UK, my recommendations to you are on this subject are as follows;
I. Should you wish to follow Blair and bail out these companies then get it right: buy only their new and green tech.
ii. Raid your local Patent office, its unparalleled short-sightedness which allows for new tech to be filed as military/ space only.
iii. Like all bureaucracy, perhaps the industry Europe will lead on forevermore, get some plain English campaigners into the secret stashes at Patent Offices. I wouldn't have recognised my own devious super chip technology by the time the attorneys had
done with it.
iv. Ignore me and have the Chinese do it for you, anyone getting déjà vu with the Third Reich? We gifted Hitler; Jets, rockets and we used Polish Enigmas to crack his ciphers and win the war only for the British to dismantle the World's first computers 'in case the Russians found out what we could do'. As mad crazy as that is we are doing the same thing again now with diamond computers and we just shut down supersonic passenger air travel.
v. Monitoring through fair means or foul of the achievements in advanced research institutes is a must, continue to lose track on what those guys are doing and continue the circle of market losses when progress is not sustainable without genuine growth globally.
vi. There's always a curve ball, in this game it's the Japanese, they have spirited away materielle and personnel from the strangest technology on Earth – cold fusion and water engines. The oxymoron of military Intel should go find out why.
vii. Patent office isn't the only piggy bank of commercial confidentialities worth raiding in times of hardship like now. The aforementioned DARPA down on the Potomac have organic computing and quantum devices built using my diamonds, I invite you to find out what they have been paid astronomical sums of money not to share with you.
Economic growth is concomitant with the genuine progress and advancement of all mankind and in my opinion little else. Do not feign alarm when we expect one to be attendant in the absence of its counterpart.
